What Is Natural Latex?
Natural latex comes from the rubber tree. These trees live for about 25 years, and during that time they convert CO₂ into oxygen. This makes rubber plantations environmentally positive: they compensate more CO₂ than they emit. This is especially true when compared to synthetic latex, which is made from petroleum and produces significant CO₂ emissions during extraction.
So natural latex is not only a responsible choice for the environment—it’s also a smart investment for your wallet, because a latex mattress lasts a long time.
From Rubber Tree to Natural Latex Mattress
Our natural latex mattresses are handmade in the Netherlands. The sap from the rubber tree is processed into an elastic and durable material. Perfect for creating comfortable mattresses, but also for products such as a natural latex pillow or a natural latex topper. Other great benefits of this material include its excellent breathability, hypoallergenic properties, and durability. Natural latex makes it easy to drift off into a wonderful sleep. But how do you turn this material into the best natural latex mattress? We achieved this by adding seven comfort zones that provide optimal support for your body at key pressure points, promoting a healthy sleeping posture.
Around the core, there is a soft layer of pure organic virgin wool. The mattress is then finished with a beautiful, soft, and luxurious cotton jersey cover that meets the strict requirements of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Sleep well!
Advice & Maintenance
Still unsure about the right choice for you? Visit our showroom in Amsterdam to experience the comfort of a natural latex mattress and receive personal advice. Just make sure to schedule an appointment first—it’s easy to do online.
To enjoy your mattress for as long as possible, we recommend letting it breathe every morning by folding back your duvet. It’s also advisable to rotate your mattress every three months, both horizontally and vertically.
Vacuuming a natural latex mattress is not recommended, as this can damage the wool layer inside. Instead, we suggest using a quality mattress protector (molton) to keep your mattress fresh.
