But what can you do yourself to keep your products beautiful, fresh and soft for years to come? We’ve listed it for you. In this blog, we explain how to care for your bed linen in the best possible way.

Washing, Drying, Ironing

There are a few general tips that are useful to keep in mind when washing and caring for your bed linen.

  1. Wash your bed linen before use
It’s a good idea to wash your bedding before sleeping under it for the first time. When you take your duvet cover out of the packaging, it may look slightly larger because the size takes shrinkage into account. After washing, your bedding will fit perfectly. Washing also makes your new bed linen extra soft and supple. In addition, it will absorb moisture better and any scents from transport will disappear.
We recommend washing your bedding at 40 degrees for the best preservation of colours and materials. White bedding can be washed at 60 degrees if needed. We advise using detergent for coloured or delicate laundry. Avoid detergents with optical brighteners or bleach, as these can fade the colour of your bedding.
  2. Wash your bed linen inside out
To keep your bedding (and its colour) in good condition, we recommend washing it inside out.
  3. Don’t overload your washing machine
If you put too much laundry in the washing machine, pilling can occur more quickly because fabrics rub against each other. Wash a maximum of two single duvet cover sets or one double set at a time.
  4. Use the recommended amount of detergent
Always follow the recommended dosage. Using too much detergent can cause white streaks on your bedding — which would be a shame! We also recommend choosing an ecological detergent, as it’s much better for the environment.
  5. Sort your laundry
A basic tip, but a very important one! Sort your bedding by colour. Wash bright and dark colours separately from white laundry. This keeps colours and quality intact. Try to wash your bedding separately from rougher materials like jeans to prevent pilling.
  6. Be careful with the tumble dryer
Hanging your bedding to dry gives the best result with the fewest creases. Plus, it saves a lot of energy compared to using the tumble dryer. Be careful with strong sunlight though — it can cause colours to fade. If you choose to use a tumble dryer, always check the care label. Don’t dry your bedding too hot or too long, as this may cause shrinking or pilling.
